Zoom into Haul-O-Ween With A Cars 3 Themed Party Inspired By Disneyland
During my visit to Los Angeles for the #ThorRagnarokEvent, we (Disney Bloggers) also visited Disneyland. I love going to Disneyland. As a kid, we went often, and it always reminds me of my grandmother. We would take pictures at the entrance of the park before going in to enjoy the rides. I swear, I could have spent a few days taking it all in. It was so amazing!
For the first time ever, Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Celebrated Haul-O-Ween just in time for the in-home release of Cars 3. Radiator Springs was turned into “Radiator Screams” with a Haul-O-Ween makeover. We were greeted by Scary the “Scare-car” at the entrance of Route 66 with an opportunity to take special photos.
We had dinner at Flo’s, it was delicious, and we walked under the web spun by a Spider-Car. Everything was decorated – Fillmore’s Jack-Oil Lanterns and ghostly art, Cozy Cone dressed up in “car-stumes”, and Sarge displaying his “pump-kins patch”.
The costumes were cute, Lightning McQueen was a superhero and Mater rode by his side as a “van-pire”. We had a ball on the rides, Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and my favorite Radiator Springs Racer was lit up with Halloween lights. They did not miss one detail, it was a trunk-or-treating good time.
In my home, we don’t “celebrate” Halloween. And before having Chance, that was fairly easy for my husband and me. Now that we have an 8-year-old it is harder to enforce non-Halloween activities. Many churches have responded to this need by offering a “Harvest Fest” which proves to be just as much fun and frolic for kids. The kids are able to dress up (or not), play games and get candy.
When Disney asked us to share ideas around hosting a Cars 3 Viewing Party for Halloween inspired by Cars Land, with decorations, snacks and the “movie” of course, I loved the alternative idea for those looking for creative ways to celebrate Halloween.
Throwing a “Boo-tiful” Viewing Party (you can totally have that name) in your home is one of the best ways to make sure your kiddos enjoy a safe and memorable day. The kids will have an opportunity to give candy to trick-or-treaters, and enjoy games, treats, and a kid-friendly, fun movie – Cars 3! Sounds like fun, right? Here are a few tips for a Cars 3 Themed Haul-O-Ween Party:
- Cars 3 Movie Theme – Disney’s Cars 3 will be available on digital on 10/24, just in time for your party. You may want to use fun Halloween decorations to keep your party cost effective. Or if you’re like me, and want everything to match, you can and create snacks, party bags, and supplies created around Cars 3.
- Make Fun Food – Finger foods are probably best and easy to make. You can make themed food, or serve them up or themed trays. For example, you can serve mini chocolate donuts stacked up like tires or cozy cone shaped cookies.
- Have Games and Prizes – Having a few games and prizes during the night can help with keeping the kiddos busy before starting the movie. You can have a costume contest judged by attendees. The winner will get a prize, like this Cars Land themed t-shirt.
There you have it, a simple but fun way to host a Car 3 Viewing Party for Halloween. You still have a little time to make your party supplies, or find you favorite Etsy store for the items needed for our Car 3 “Boo-tiful” Viewing Party. I am super excited and want to see your photos of the party. As for me, I’ll be enjoying Cars 3 as well, on my sofa with my boys.
The new Halloween Fun, Thrills and Décor will be hovering over Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park until October 31st. If you are in the area, please visit the park and please consider taking advantage of the MaxPass. And remember Cars 3 will be available on Digital HD on 10/24 and on Blu-ray on 11/7!
Do you celebrate Halloween? If so, have you made plans for Halloween yet? If you are looking for a fun way to hang out with your kids, keep them safe…host your very own Car 3 Halloween Viewing Party too. Share your thoughts and ideas about in-home parties, I would love to hear about them.

It must be quite difficult to not celebrate Halloween with almost everyone in US celebrating it and especially about what to tell your son. Halloween foods is a really great idea!! ?
Wow, that sounds like an incredible event. The decorations and food are great and Mater looks adorable in that vampire costume.

I don’t really celebrate Halloween because I am in a country where this tradition doesn’t really exist. However, I like your idea of a Cars themed party for Halloween. Who doesn’t love Disney movies?
Popcorn plus spooky desserts! Lots of reason to spend Halloween at Disneyland 🙂
My kids really love this movie as much as they love the others. This is such an awesome design for a party.
That looks like it was tons of fun. It makes me want to go.
Why is Disney always so brillant. Haul-O-Ween is a perfect theme for the Cars franchise that is now at Disneyland!
Oh my. This reminds me of our Disneyland trip last Christmas. We need to try the Halloween theme at Disneyland next year (or some year, coz we will leave US soon.)
