7 Best Places To Go Camping On Vacation
My family and I are trying to rethink our summer vacation and we are thinking about camping. Yup, we are considering renting an RV and hitting the road. Camping with your family is a great low cost vacation plan, and these 7 Best Places To Go Camping On Vacation are some of our personal favorites as well as highly talked about. I enjoy camping, but honestly I am more of a “glamping” fan. I like to have my gadgets, my pillows, comfort items and yes – I want some air conditioning. So, this list includes places you can go traditional with a tent, or pull an RV to park. As a bonus, many of these areas also have cabin rentals for an even better experience.
7 Best Places To Go Camping On Vacation
Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone is in the beautiful majesty of Wyoming and Montana. With multiple choices for tents, RV’s and even cabin rentals this is a great place to go camping with the family. There are dozens of choices of hiking trails to spend your day wandering the park, or you can sign up for tours. Drive around to the various geysers, or even go on Lake Yellowstone. The possibilities are endless.
Yosemite National Park
Yosemite truly has it all. From lakes and mountains, to hiking, skiing in winer months and camping year round. Whether you want to bring a tent, RV or rent a cabin or room, this is a great location. There is even fine dining available. This is definitely my kind of campground.
Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area
This specific campground in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Park is singular in beauty. It is perfect for hiking, bird watching and of course swimming or boating. It has places to camp in a tent or RV, but no cabin rentals at this particular campground.
Acadia National Park
This beautiful destination in Maine is most loved for the spectacular color changes of the trees in the fall months. With more traditional rustic camping, this location is definitely a bit more “rough” than others, but the beauty makes up for it. There are a few designated campgrounds, and many places you can hike and set up a tent as you want.
Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park
Nestled in North Carolina, this is a great place for the entire family. Not only do you have tent and RV camping, but this site also has cabin rentals available. With plenty of beautiful sites around, you also have a great miniature golf area and other fun outdoor sports for the whole family. Paddle boats are always popular with the kids!
Newaygo State Park
This campground is beautiful, but definitely a bit more on the rustic side. With 99 campsites, it does not offer cabin rentals or a lot of the amenities others do. However, it is a perfect place for someone who loves boating, fishing and roughing it a bit more than I do.
Glacier National Park
This is one of those places to go camping on vacation that offers a true camping experience or the full luxury you might want in a rustic adventure with all of your favorite amenities. Tons of history and beauty, but the kids will love the hikes and the fun hidden swimming holes.
As you can see, I am kind of picky about camping and want to go toward something that offers me a few more comforts of home. With this list I can have all of that, or the guys in my life can rough it a bit more in a tent while I relax at home.
