I Am NOT a Beauty Influencer… But Hear Me Out
Let me start with the disclaimer: I am NOT a beauty influencer.
I am not the woman who can give you a 17-step skincare routine. I cannot teach you how to contour your nose into a completely different nose. And please don’t ask me which brush does what because there is a strong possibility I’m using the wrong one myself.
But what I can tell you is this: sometimes doing a little something for yourself can completely change how you feel.

Doing For Yourself Can Change How You Feel
As moms, we spend so much time taking care of everybody else. We’re getting children dressed, answering emails, running businesses, working, serving, volunteering, solving problems, remembering appointments, figuring out dinner…and somewhere in all of that, we forget to put ourselves on the list.
And I’ve learned that self-care doesn’t always have to mean a spa day or a weekend getaway. Sometimes it’s simply looking in the mirror and saying, Girl, we’re going to pull ourselves together today.
So here are my 6 Busy Mom Beauty Shortcuts, from someone who is absolutely NOT qualified to be a beauty influencer but IS qualified to be a busy mama trying to keep herself motivated!
Let Somebody Else Handle The Lashes
A lash tint, lift, or extensions can eliminate one more step in the morning. Plus, you get to lie down quietly during the appointment. At this stage of motherhood, that alone sounds luxurious.
Create Your “Mama Grab & Go” Beauty Station
Keep the products you actually use every day together. Not the 37 products somebody convinced you to buy that you haven’t touched since 2023. I’m talking moisturizer, lip gloss, mascara, concealer, whatever helps YOU feel put together. Five minutes. Done.
Find Products That Can Multitask Like You Do
Lip and cheek color? YES. Moisturizer with SPF? Absolutely. Anything that does two jobs gets bonus points because Mama does not have 45 minutes to get ready.
Simplify The Face
I am embracing the idea that not every day requires a full face. A tinted moisturizer or lightweight foundation with SPF, a little color, some lashes, and a cute lip can have you looking like you got eight hours of sleep, even if we all know you did not.
Moisturize FAST
Keep an easy spray or quick-absorbing body moisturizer nearby. Shower. Spray. Rub. GO. We’re trying to have soft skin without missing the morning meeting.
Get A Hairstyle That Works WITH Your Life
Talk to your stylist about something that looks good without requiring an entire morning routine. Protective styles, easy-maintenance cuts, curls, braids, twists, whatever works for your hair, schedule, and lifestyle.
But here’s the real point…This isn’t really about beauty.
It’s about remembering that you deserve some of the care you so freely give everyone else.
I’ve noticed that when I take a few extra minutes to care for myself, do my hair, put on something I feel good in, spray on my favorite fragrance, and put on a little lip gloss, it can shift my whole mood. Sometimes I don’t do it because I’m going somewhere.
I do it because I need to remind myself that I’m still in here. I am still a woman, worthy of care. Still deserving of attention and of feeling beautiful. In my Michelle Obama voice, I am still becoming.
So, Mama, drink your water. Moisturize your skin. Put on the lipstick. Schedule the hair appointment. Wear the outfit you’ve been “saving.” Take the picture.
Not because beauty determines your worth. But because taking care of yourself can be one small way to remind yourself that YOU matter, too.
And if you see me looking extra put together one day, please don’t ask for a tutorial. I’m just out here doing my best.
What’s one little thing you do that instantly makes you feel more like yourself?
