5 Reasons Why You Should Stay At A Disney Resort #DisneySMMC #WaltDisneyWednesdays
I’ve been to Disneyland and Disney World several times. We’ve stayed on property and at other hotel properties nearby…and honestly, I wish we would have stayed at a Disney Resort each time.
You ‘re probably thinking, “Well, it’s not going to make a difference, it’s just a place to sleep!” It may seem like more of an expense to stay on site, but have you factored in ALL the expenses?
- Airplane tickets or gas fuel (if you live closer than those who need to fly)
- Travel essentials (food, snacks, bathroom accessories, etc.)
- Disney tickets
- Hotel
- Souvenirs
But why limit your experience? You’re going to Disney! While some of these reasons may be very true, you probably didn’t know about all of these amazing benefits about staying on Disney property.
Well, get ready!
Here are the top 5 reasons why you should stay at a Disney resort!
Transportation
Disney is known to keep the magic alive and make sure everyone is having the best time on the “Happiest place on Earth”.
But are you really at your happiest when you are spending $20 at each theme park to park your car? Probably not.
While staying on site, Disney offer 24/7 shuttle bus transportation to and from the airport, hotel, Disney Springs, and all the theme parks included. Now, you can beat those 8 a.m. crowds as everyone waits for Magic Kingdom to open!
Magic Bands
When you make a reservation to stay at a Disney Hotel, you get a free magic band that will be shipped to your home before 10 days from your visit. With these magic bands, you can enter your room, pay for your souvenirs AND get in line on a Fast Pass attraction.
Do you want to know the best part? Disney lets you personalize these bands. You can choose the color you would like and even let you add a name to make sure everyone knows whose band is whose.
And hey, who doesn’t like freebies?
Extra Magic Time
If you are a guest at a Disney Resort, you and your other guests are granted extra Magic Time.
What does this mean? It means at certain times and days, guests at these resorts can come in early (or stay late) at the park of your choosing and get to enjoy the park at the less crowded times.
Many visitors like to use this time to get ahead of others and ride the attractions while others opt in for a character breakfast and taking pictures without the crowds.
Whatever you choose, you really can’t go wrong!
Fast Pass Access and Reservations
Like I mentioned above, with your magic band, you can get access to your Fast Pass and make save a spot in the line for your favorite ride. There are only a few rides where you can’t use for your fast pass ticket.
You can even make a reservation to your favorite restaurant such as:
- Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom
- Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom
- Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot
- Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater in Hollywood Studios
Doing all of this has never been easier!
Using My Disney Experience app on your phone, you can look at wait times, make a reservation at your favorite stop and even choose where to use your fast pass ticket.
Live in Disney Magic at all Times
Anyone you ask who has stayed at a Disney resort throughout their visit will tell you their hotel room was their favorite part. Not only is each hotel themed differently but so is every room.
The resorts are priced at different values are each differently themed so there is something for everyone. Some of the most popular hotels at Disney are:
- Disney’s All-Star Resorts (Value)
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter (Moderate)
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (Deluxe)
These rooms are very well maintained and have enough activities within itself.
You see, there are so many amazing perks with staying at a Disney Resort! Even if you aren’t at the parks, you can still enjoy some of that Disney magic, even in your dreams! I like staying on sight when we go anywhere for the convenience. And the transportation. I drive like a crazy person. I’d love to stay in this resort one day and maybe I can make that happen. I’d love to live in Disney Magic for the duration of our trip.
I so agree with you here. We always stay on property! I’ve stayed at All Stars, Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, and when we go in October, we’re staying at Coronado Springs. I’m excited.
Hands up I would absolutely LOVE to stay and a Disney resort. I am hoping one day we will manage to make it but it’s such a long way from here!
I think staying in a Disney Resort allows you to maximize your Disney experience and that makes it all the more worth it. These reasons are enough to convince anyone to stay there!
Disney is such a magical place and I see no reason why anyone wouldn’t stay at Disney resorts! Great posts. Loved that one bluish magical photo!! 🙂
I would love to go to Disney World. It sounds and looks like so much fun and magical.
This is right on time! My niece has chosen to go to Disney next March to celebrate her 21st birthday, so we’ve already had a family meeting to start planning the trip. We were discussing if it would be better to rent a house for everyone, or do a resort. I think we may do better staying at an actual Disney owned resort, and taking advantage of the transportation and other perks!
