The Journey To Bethlehem A Confirmation Of Purpose Through Alignment
I was invited to an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles courtesy of Soney to attend a special screening of the JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM event in exchange for my coverage. No other compensation was provided. All views, opinions, thoughts, and ideas shared in my post are completely my own.
My Journey to Purpose Through Alignment
This year has been rough but I have a greater sense of my purpose through alignment. You see, I have been out of alignment in several areas of my life for a few years. And boy oh boy it is like the belly of a 9-month pregnant mom, it is definitely showing. The problem with being out of alignment is it does not appear obvious at first. When things start to happen in my life, I tend to look at circumstances to find blame instead of looking at myself. Well, I am one who will examine myself and I still did not see that I have strayed. When I noticed, I was a ways from the place that I knew I was meant to be, the place of purpose through alignment.
A few months ago, I started to see my disconnection and began to self-correct. I made room for God, prayer, the leading of the Spirit, and devotion to God’s word. I began seeing even more clearly exactly how I landed in the mess that I was in. But God! As soon as I began aligning with God’s plan, things started to happen for me. Not just any old thing, not even things that I thought I wanted….no, things that aligned with who God called me to be and what He called me to do.
One of those things was an invitation to attend a special screening of JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM in Beverly Hills. I know, some of you who are familiar with my brand may say….” you have been invited to movie screenings before” and you are right, I have. But this one was different, and it was my first screening invite out-of-state post-COVID. I honestly did not know what to expect. I packed my bag and flew into LAX in just enough time to get to the hotel and get dressed. After the screening, I went back to my hotel room, changed, and headed to the airport for a redeye flight home. While this trip was quick, it was significantly impactful.
MOVIE SYNOPSIS
The JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM is a story about a young woman carrying an unimaginable responsibility. A young man is torn between love and honor. A jealous king who will stop at nothing to keep his crown. This live-action Christmas musical adventure for the entire family weaves classic Christmas melodies with humor, faith, and new pop songs in a retelling of the greatest story ever told, the story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus. A unique new entry into the collection of holiday classic movies, this epic Christmas musical is unlike any before it.
Without spoiling the movie for you, and even as a popular and well-known story, I can totally spoil it. The director Adam Anders did a great job of sharing this story in a way that truthfully changed my life. In a recent interview, Adam said,
“I have had a dream to create a Christmas musical for years and to see it come to life with a stunning cast has exceeded every expectation.”
I’m in transition in many areas of my life. During the movie, it became clearer to me that my issue was not my ability, capacity, or eligibility – because I slept on myself a lot. But rather, my real issue had more to do with my alignment. I was out of position. I had allowed life and that it offers to gradually navigate a pivot from purpose perfection.
Yes, I went from trusting who God created me to be, to being a person to trying to prove who God created me to be. Does that make sense? And you know a gradual change is hard to notice if you are asleep at the wheel. Therefore, I have been going through what my grandmother would call “hell and high water” out of alignment. LISTEN to me….even though I have been walking this faith walk for a while, I feel found again. I have found my purpose through alignment, and it’s refreshing.
Just as Mary had to be in a relationship with God for the immaculate conception of Jesus. Her life and the birth of Christ depended upon her obedience and connection to God. Being found again means that I am not only in alignment with God, but I can hear His voice and receive instructions on how I am to deliver the promises that He has birthed in me.
Can’t you tell by the trailer that it is going to be a great movie? Well, you can find out now, because the movie is now available on Prime today. JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM stars Fiona Palomo (“Outer Banks”, “Control Z”) and Milo Manheim (Disney’s ZOMBIES series, Prom Pact, School Spirits), along with Academy Award® nominee Antonio Banderas (PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH, INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY). Also starring MŌRIAH (BECAUSE OF GRACIA), Stephanie Gil (FATIMA), 4x Grammy© award-winning Joel Smallbone (PRICELESS) from the pop duo FOR KING + COUNTRY and multiple Grammy© award-winning Lecrae, Rizwan Manji (WEDDING SEASON, “Schitt’s Creek”), Geno Segers (Perfect Harmony, BONE TOMAHAWK), and Omid Djalili (GLADIATOR, THE MUMMY).
MOVIE SCREENING
As you can see, the environment was beautiful. Everything was done so well. The experience was exceptional on so many levels. I felt like I was part of the cast, taking in my moment. As a matter of fact, I sat next to Scott who represents the Founder of Monarch Media and Executive Producer of this film and when I turned to introduce myself, he asked “Are you in the movie?” As I worked hard to control the giddy reaction that I had rehearsed since I was a little girl to a question like that as an actress, I smiled and said “How kind, no, I am LaToyia Dennis, The Motivated Mom.” But my entire body was filled with emotion and joy!
That was a sign. Being aligned does not mean being perfect, nor does it mean that everything will go my way. It does, however, mean that my life will begin to look more like the person God created to me be. I’m walking unapologetically into all that is meant for me. This means I will have the time to be more present with my children. I will make a greater impact on the lives of those around me and I will be in a position to help others find alignment as well.
