I’m Off To Los Angeles For The Solo: A Star Wars Story Premiere #HanSoloEvent
OH MY! Do you know what today is? No, not my anniversary, that was last weekend. Today is May the 4th (be with you) and it is officially Star Wars Day! It’s really awesome because I have some amazing news about the upcoming movie SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY.
You’ve probably seen a few references on my social channels, but I am delighted to say I’M GOING to Los Angeles with Disney, Lucasfilm, ABC and 24 other super amazing bloggers for the live-action film release of SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, the In-Home releases of A WRINKLE IN TIME and the Walt Disney Signature Collection of PETER PAN and the hit ABC daytime drama GENERAL HOSPITAL! I know….bananas!
I must admit; I was shocked at invite. I mean it is my very first Star Wars event and the timing is perfect. We will get to walk the red carpet for the premiere of SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY (big deal…HUGE), attend the press junket and interview the cast and directors – all leading up to Mother’s Day weekend. Awesome Sauce!!!
SYNOPSIS: Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes. The film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Paul Bettany.
As a boy mom, I am slowly getting immersed in the fascination of all things Marvel, Video Games, and Star Wars related. Chance is constantly giving me lessons on the history of his interests. He was hoping that I would get an invite to SOLO just, so I could ask him a million questions. LOL! In all honesty the trailer caused me to dive in and begin my galaxy journey.
Really good right? I know, SOLO is going to be thrilling! And that’s not it…there’s so much more. While in town, we will also celebrate the 65th anniversary and in-home release of Walt Disney Signature Collection Edition of PETER PAN available on Digital 5/29 and Blu-ray 6/5 by exploring the place it was made and visiting the Animation Research Library to see the original drawings from the film.
SYNOPSIS: In this Disney animated film, Wendy and her two brothers are amazed when a magical boy named Peter Pan flies into their bedroom, supposedly in pursuit of his rebellious shadow. He and his fairy friend, Tinkerbell, come from a far-off place called Neverland, where children stay perpetually young. Enchanted, the kids follow him back. But when Pan’s nemesis, the pirate Captain Hook, causes trouble, the kids begin to miss their old life.
Oh, how I wish I could stay young…well maybe just stay looking young. But I often think that Chance is growing up so fast, I wish time would just slow down a bit. Speaking of time, we will also have an opportunity to see bonus features from A WRINKLE IN TIME followed by a Q&A with “Charles Wallace Murry” played by Deric McCabe.
SYNOPSIS: Meg Murry and her little brother, Charles Wallace, have been without their scientist father, Mr. Murry, for five years, ever since he discovered a new planet and used the concept known as a tesseract to travel there. Joined by Meg’s classmate Calvin O’Keefe and guided by the three mysterious astral travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which, the children brave a dangerous journey to a planet that possesses all of the evil in the universe.
I got to see A WRINKLE IN TIME in advance during the Disney Dreamers Academy and was so excited to take Chance. Opening weekend, I took Chance and my two nieces to see it and they loved it. My niece Sophee was inspired the most and it made my heart happy to see the excitement on her face. She talked about it the entire weekend. If you have not seen it, then you definitely want to snag your copy on Digital 5/29 or Blu-Ray 6/5. I am looking forward to releasing my movie review to include the bonus features.
Last but certainly not least, we will swing by ABC for a sneak peek of the iconic, Emmy Award winning daytime drama, (soap opera is what my grandmother called it) in its 55th anniversary year, General Hospital! OMG amazing right? I will share more about the episodes and air dates…stay tuned.
Moms, I am honored to attend this media trip with Disney for SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. It gives me an opportunity to live my dreams and share my experiences and lessons with you. You see, the theme for Star Wars has always been in a galaxy far, far away. And this Mother’s Day SOLO is exactly what I need.
Instead of boarding the Millennium Falcon, I am boarding an American Airlines flight to Los Angeles for an adventure through Star Wars, Neverland, Camazotz, and General Hospital. Before returning home, I am spending Mother’s Day all alone at Disneyland – a place where my grandmother and I loved to go. I will take a picture in front of the giant Mickey, ride our favorite “Finding Nemo” Submarine Voyage, and try the Pixar Fest featured fried bologna sandwich – which is sure to have been her fav.
I hope that you are planning to do exactly what you want to do for Mother’s Day as well. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing movie reviews, interviews and lessons learned from SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY in theaters on May 25th, PETER PAN and A WRINKLE IN TIME on Digital May 29th and Blu-Ray on June 6th; and a pretty cool episode of General Hospital’s “Nurses Ball.” It is my hope that you follow along using hashtag #HanSoloEvent #PeterPanBluRay #WrinkleinTimeBluRay #GeneralHospital or #ABCTVEvent.
